Trump And Navid Afkari Case

The other day Donald Trump tweeted a message at Iranian officials asking for dropping the execution of an Iranian personality named Navid Afkari.

I approve of Trump’s plea toward the Iranian officials to not kill Navid Afkari as I am against the death penalty.

However, I doubt Trump’s reason for asking to spare Afkari’s life is the same as my reasoning. I do not believe in the afterlife. Thus, in my opinion, if one kills a person that committed a crime, he or she will not suffer the penalty. Killing the convict, as frightening as it may be for the person in question, it is actually a deliverance once done. Once killed, there is no more suffering of any kind, at least, that we can be assured of. On the other hand, keeping a person alive in prison until they die on their own is assurance the convict suffers as long they breathe.

Now that said, Trump should shut up concerning what Iran does with its convicts, as much Iran shuts up with what the U.S does with its convicts. If you noticed, as always, Trump neglects details for his own benefit, for example in his tweets he never mentions Navid Afkari has allegedly killed someone during the Iranian riots, hence the death penalty. FoxNews, the enabler and original false and distorted newsmaker, does not mention such detail as well. At the end, it is the everlasting narrative for these people, hate Iran. It does not matter if Navid Afkari did in fact kill the security guard or not, as long they portray the Iranian officials as always vicious, it is fine with FoxNews and Trump. At the end, it makes the reader of the news think the Iranian officials are just killing an innocent person and with that, enrage the gullible U.S citizen. The least they could do for a proper news cover is to mention a “possibility” Afkari did kill a guard by stabbing. But, FoxNews and Trumpaganda at its best here.

And to sum up, and the reason I posted this commentary, is to make you aware, or at the very least to make you remember that not long ago, Trump’s own administration asked the court to reinstate the death penalty at the federal level.

Therefore, while Trump asked another country to stop an execution, his own influence asked to reinstate the death penalty at home.

Hypocritical at its best this Trump administration.
